The finest philanthropist and humanitarian of Pakistan finally got a great piece of recognition and appreciation! Mr. Abdul Sattar Edhi was honoured by the Pakistan Cricket Board in an event which took place in the mid of June. The PCB offered hands to the well reputed organization of Mr. Abdul Sattar and announced long term association with them by making Edhi a charity partner for PCB.
Pakistan’s official kits will be featured with Edhi’s logo for the upcoming tour. The national team will meet England on the English grounds this July wearing new kits with Edhi Foundation logo imprinted on them.
What a great gesture to honor a great man who lives the simplest of lives and keeps good will for those in need.
The 17th of July marked new standards for this nation. Never did any social service organization get associated with a cricket team before. But due to his excellency and pure-heartedness, PCB paid glowing tribute to the man and his organization. The ceremony was also attended by The Pepsi Company which gave another blow to the happening event. The representatives from the company presented a cheque of Rs. 1 MIillion to the venture which was received by Saad Edhi, the grandson of Abdul Sattar Edhi trustee of Edhi Foundation.
Already known for their brilliant work towards Corporate Social Responsibility, the nation could not have been prouder.
Along with doing business to fill their pockets, they make sure that the people of this country are also living in a sound state. They have projects on community based CSR, environment based CSR and workplace based CSR. Quite obviously, they do more than just business. They recognize their responsibility for a social impact that they have on communities that are being inspired by them.
Currently, PepsiCo initiated a campaign to improve the lives of poor Pakistanis by promising to donate 1 rupee from every 1.75 liters bottle bought by Pakistanis. Thank you, PepsiCo. You never fail to surprise this country.
